About this Tour

Or Torah Synagogue was established in the 1950s by immigrants from Tunisia, in an ancient building that until then served as a community center. Gabay of the Zion Adash synagogue decided to add mosaic works to the building, as was customary in the ancient synagogues in Israel. Placed in the synagogue. Over the years more and more mosaic pieces have been added, and today its exterior and interior walls, ceiling and part of the floor are all covered with hundreds of millions of colored mosaic stones. The colors of the stones are natural, and none of them have been painted. They were all brought from different places in the Land of Israel, from the Golan Heights to the Eilat Mountains. In addition, the synagogue has 140 stained glass windows. The mosaics and stained glass windows deal with the history of the people of Israel, from Bible stories to events from the 20th century, as well as the landscapes of the Land of Israel, its cities and its flora and fauna. 11 works deal with the Holocaust, and another series of mosaics Most of the mosaics in Ayalon.
